Community Forest

During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, monthly meetings were conducted with members of the Community Forest Management Committees to ensure the effective implementation of operational management plans. A total of 12 meetings were held over the fiscal year.

To support community-based natural resource management, the revolving funds were provided to villages. Field officers supervised and reviewed the use of these funds for Community Forest (CF) groups within their assigned areas. Efforts were also made to organize livelihood activities and promote opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance local economic resilience.

Due to regional security conditions, engagement was possible with management committees of community forests in villages such as Yar Hpu, Thar Yar Mon, Michaunglaung, Zinba (1, 2, 3), Yepone, and Thatkekwat. However, meetings could not be held with committees in Kyauk Shat, Hman Kye (1, 2), and U Yin due to accessibility and security challenges.
