Tanintharyi Nature Reserve Project Holds 33rd PCC Meeting
The Tanintharyi Nature Reserve Project held its 33rd Project Coordinating Committee (PCC) Meeting on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The session took place at the meeting hall of the Director-General's Office, Forest Department, and was inaugurated by an opening address from the PCC Chairman , Director-General of the Forest Department, Dr. Thaung Naing Oo. Key attendees included the Deputy Directors-General (Admin)Directors-General (Planning), Directors, PCC members from related departments and partner companies, and project staff, with some participating in-person and others joining online including U Naing Win Aung, Chief Engineer (Offshore), U Nay Myo Htaik, Assistant Director of the Tanintharyi Region Forest Department, and staff from the Park Warden's office. The agenda featured several crucial updates, including a video presentation on the project’s 2025-2026 Fiscal Year activities, a detailed report by the Park Warden on the implementation status up to October 2025, and an overview from the Project Director regarding follow-up actions from the 32nd PCC meeting and future work plans. A significant technical presentation was also given by U Khine Zaw Wynn, Assistant Director, Planning and Statistics Division, on the analysis of the Tanintharyi Nature Reserve’s land use status using high-resolution satellite imagery. Following these presentations, PCC members actively engaged in discussions, posed questions, and ultimately provided guidance and passed resolutions for the continuation of the project. The meeting concluded at 4:30 PM.
