SMART Reporting System

The data related to biodiversity conservation obtained from the monthly patrolling and monitoring activities conducted are entered into the SMART Database system. This system is used to monitor and analyze the current survival patterns, threats, and challenges to biodiversity within the natural protected area, along with the activities carried out by the patrolling staff on a monthly basis.

SMART training

In order to speed up biodiversity conservation activities by analyzing the dangers of predation and threats to the survival of biological diversity, there is a need to carry out more law enforcement activities effectively. Therefore, the project management team conducted a training on the analysis of information on patrol operations for wildlife conservation and protection using SMART technology (SMART training) from 26th February to 1st March 2024 in Central Forestry Development Training Center in Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region. 20 trainees from the Park Warden offices from States and Regions under the Nature and Wildlife Conservation Division of Forest Department were trained to be able to systematically enter into the SMART Database system and analyze the information obtained from patrolling. The use of SMART technology and observation of wildlife habitats with camera traps was taught by trainers from the expert form Nature and Wildlife Conservation Division and external experts.
