The Tanintharyi Nature Reserve Project held a discussion on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the meeting hall of the Michaung Hlaung camp. The event focused on enabling interested local people from Community Forest User Groups to carry out patrolling and conservation activities.
The session began with an opening address by U Ye Htut, the Park Manager. U Chan Nyein, Project Staff Officer, then led the discussion on patrol and conservation work within the Tanintharyi Nature Reserve Project. He presented the patrolling activities currently undertaken by the Project and highlighted the important role of local residents, the potential benefits they could receive, the challenges/difficulties involved, and possible solutions. Following the presentation, representatives from the attending Community Forest User Groups discussed how they could carry out patrolling and conservation activities. In total, 40 people attended the discussion: 18 Project staff members and 22 members from the local Community Forest User Groups.
